We received a letter in the mail from Longridge today notifying us that authority commence construction has been approved and letting us know who our building supervisor is. Yay! Not sure if we’re meant to call him first or if he’ll call us to let us know when they’ll actually be starting. From what we’ve been told previously it’ll probably be a couple of weeks before they start work.

Earlier in the week Kelly contacted the guy doing the foundations to organise a bit of extra concrete to put down behind the house so we have something solid to put the water tanks on. We also received another variation now that the estimators have finished. The cost has dropped a bit primarily because the cost of the double glazed windows is lower than expected. It will now definitely be worthwhile upgrading to double glazed windows.

We also discovered that the builder is installing a 16.7kW Brivis Contour evaporative a/c. Our electrician, Richard from Moonlight Electrical, did some research and discovered that we will need a controller adapter so it can hook up to the C-Bus system. So thats one thing which will be needed to be added but sounds like it won’t be too expensive.
